Jenny Pulling

Ever since I was young I always enjoyed creating jewellery, but over the past few years this passion expanded beyond a hobby as I met and was inspired by other artisans and their craft.I spent several years travelling and living in Mexico, and Central America, where I was fortunate to meet and learn from a number of talented artisans who knew how to make the most of whatever materials available to them. Most of all, they taught me that to be an artisan is to love what you do, even when it’s not economically fruitful.Upon returning to Canada in early 2011, I decided to expand my skills by taking a studio course in Toronto. To my liking, the course was informal and hands-on. I experimented with tools and techniques and found my passion growing with every new skill I acquired. Although the course was short, it gave me what I needed to continue to grow as an artisan – the realization that, with the proper tools, I could create anything I put my mind to. Since the course’s end less than a year ago, I have grown as an artist and a person. In September of 2011 I gave birth to my first child – a daughter, Luciana. As a full time single mom, there is a lot less time available to me to work on my art, but I try to find some creative time each day, and am learning to make the most of my free moments.

Roger Wood – Klockwerks
www.klockwerks.com

Roger Wood creates with time in mind. Yet even though the clock can be a consistent element of his work, it’s often secondary to its creation. Whether it’s a curious timepiece or a unique assemblage, Wood thrives on working with an immeasurable array of findings from the tarnished and forgotten to the odd or intriquing. He is a devoted collector of usual and unusual objects with one thing in common, a history.
Playful, wondrous timepieces emerge that take flight on cherubic wings, float and sway on fine wires, or appear frozen mid-explosion with flying springs and cogs that bounce at the touch.
This definitive merging of objects and ideas has brought Wood much critical acclaim across Canada. Shows at galleries, museums and awards at several exhibitions are ongoing testaments to his freedom of imagination. Just as his single signature feather at the tip of the second hand quivers magically through time, Roger Wood’s creations continue to fascinate.

Greg Voisin

AllSorts Gallery is very happy to welcome local potter Greg Voisin, who creates lovely cups, bowls, plates, and more with a variety of designs to bring some cheer to your day.  Just in time for the Holidays, these pieces make great gifts!

Hi, my name is Greg.  I was born and raised in Hamilton, Ontario. After studying philosophy, I traveled around for a little while, washing dishes, cutting hair, playing music, working on films, and drawing. In an attempt to avoid having a “real job” I taught myself the craft of pottery.
Each piece is handmade and decorated in my home studio. The hand drawn images of birds, mustaches, mix tapes, bicycles and the like are meant to warm the heart as much as they are meant to warm your leftovers. I hope you enjoy them.
